The hostel located at the Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park, backing onto the hockey turfs, began construction in 2018. This will provide accommodation for sports teams and groups of athletes who will be either training or participating in a tournament. There are 72 beds available, with majority being bed frames and about 12 being trundlers, with a communal dining and kitchen area. This could provide multiple teams or groups of athletes the opportunity to stay and play on the same premises which is a huge advantage. This project is due for completion by May of 2022. Sharp Consulting has provided the clients and contractors with the services of cost planning and management throughout the course of construction until the date of completion.
